CJAHL Junior “A” Hockey — Super 8 Motels began a fall 2003 promotion to drive incremental revenue to the brand’s Canadian franchises and celebrate its appointment as the official lodging sponsor of the Canadian Junior “A” Hockey League.

Participating Super 8 Motels across Canada are giving their guests free hockey tickets to nearby Canadian Junior "A” Hockey League games between September 2003 and March 2004. Guests who stay on game days will receive one ticket each, as many as two per room.

Super 8 Motels will partner with the Team 3 Red #3 Dodge Intrepid for it’s 4th season in the CASCAR Super Series in 2004. CASCAR (Canadian Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) is Canada’s professional full-bodied stock car series. Team 3 Red travels from Vancouver to Montreal competing across the country and is welcomed with open arms at each and every Super 8 property that they stop at along their way to each event. CASCAR races at both the Toronto and Vancouver Molson Indy’s as well as events at Race City Speedway in Calgary, Alberta, Delaware Speedway near London, Ontario, the prestigious Mosport International Raceway and Cayuga Speedway.

During their partnership with Super 8 Motels, Team 3 Red has racked up some prestigious accolades including the 2000 CASCAR Rookie of the Year title with driver 2nd Lt. Chris Fowler behind the wheel. The team has also finished in the top 15 in overall driver points in each year of competition. The highlight of the Team’s progression came in 2003 when they earned a 3rd place finish in a very tight three way battle with some of Canada’s best drivers in the 2003 Championship battle.

Televised coverage of the series can be seen on CTV Sportsnet throughout the race season and on SPEED from November to March. IN 2004, Superior Lodging partnered with Legend Cars of Alberta and became the Sponsor of the Super 8 Legend Racecar. The Super 8 Legend Racecar can be seen at many Promotional Events throughout Calgary and Southern Alberta, and the Super 8 Legend Racecar is used by Legend Cars of Alberta for all its Legend Renegade Racing Schools & Legend 10 LAP TEST DRIVES.

Super 8 Motels is also the Offical Motel of the Legends Racing Series in Western Canada.

Legend racecars are 5/8th scale replica of 30's & 40's vintage racecars that use 1200 CC Yahama engines. They are a spec class of racecars that has a spec chassis, spec engine, spec tires , spec suspension & a very strict rulebook.
