  • Acquires master development rights for Super 8 Motels, Inc in Canada.

1996 - 1997
  • Toronto-based Royop Properties Corp. acquires Superior Motel Developers Ltd. and becomes Royop Hospitality Corp.
  • Royop Hospitality Corp. acquires the master development rights to develop and franchise Wingate Inns in Canada and for Super 8s in Eastern Canada.
  • Ian McAuley joined Superior Lodging Corp. 1996
  • Marc Staniloff is recognized with Super 8s Dennis Brown Memorial Award
  • Developed 25 properties!
1998 - 1999
  • Superior Lodging Corp recognized as Super 8 Franchisee of the Year – 1998
  • Developed 29 properties!
  • Opened the 1800th Super 8 Property (Calgary Shawnessy)
2000 - 2001
  • Developed 19 properties
  • Opened the 70th Super 8 in Canada (Cochrane)
  • Royop Hospitality Corp becomes Superior Lodging Corp

2002 - 2007
